CD Specialty Contractors, one of the leading industrial commercial scaffolding and insulation contractors in the nation, provided the mechanical insulation and systems scaffolding for the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center in Denver. CD erected more than 1.5 million pounds of scaffolding to provide construction workers and subcontractors complete access to the exterior of the building.
The hotel and convention center, which opens on December 18, 2018, offers more than 1.9 million square feet of hotel, retail, commercial and convention facilities; 1,500 hotel rooms; nine restaurants and bars; and a 75-foot-tall glass atrium facing the Rocky Mountains. The project was the largest hotel construction project in North America and created more than 10,000 construction jobs for Colorado. Upon completion, it is expected to attract more than 450,000 net new visitors to the state each year and it’s estimated economic impact is projected to be $7 billion.
