As the only federal laboratory dedicated to research, development, commercialization, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency, NREL wanted its new research support facility to be one of the world’s most energy-efficient buildings. CD Specialty Contractors contribution to NREL’s integrated building design strategy included insulation of all mechanical and plumbing systems, completed in November 2015.
